SSI Dive Guide

The program gives you a simple way to get involved in the dive professional program to inсreaѕe your own knowledge, skills and experience by planning and leading of groups of certified divers. This is the first step on the following path to becoming an SSI Dive Professional. and is the first step towards an exciting career as an SSI Dive Professional without requiring you to complete an instructor program.

Certificates and benefits after course completion

  • Certified as SSI Dive Guide.
  • Lead underwater tours / local dives to certified scuba divers.
  • You will be much more aware, confident, and rich in knowledge as a scuba diver.

The Prerequisites

  • Minimum Age: 15 years old to join the program and at least 18 years old to work as an active Dive Guide.
  • Certification Requirements:
  • Advanced Adventurer certification
  • Diver Stress & Rescue certification
  • Minimum of 40 logged dives
  • Certification or experience with at least 5 dives each in Navigation, Night & Limited Visibility, and Deep Diving
  • Academic Sessions: Duration may vary depending on course progress.
  • Pool/Confined Water Sessions: Duration may vary.
  • Maximum Training Depth: 40 meters / 130 feet

Becoming a Dive Guide is the first step toward turning your passion for diving into a professional career. This program is designed for divers who want to share their love of the ocean and gain real experience guiding others underwater.

Just like how the Open Water Diver course opened the way to explore the underwater world, the Dive Guide and Divemaster programs open the way to a new level of diving. You’ll learn how to plan dives, lead groups of certified divers, and build the confidence needed to take responsibility in real diving situations.

As an SSI Dive Guide, you’ll be qualified to lead certified divers on fun diving trips through an active SSI Dive Center, and when needed, work closely with an SSI Instructor. It’s a great way to gain experience and prepare for the next step in becoming a professional instructor.

We also offer a Dive Master Internship that gives you real hands-on experience while diving in Bali’s most beautiful sites.
